The design industry is full of amazing talent from both women and men all around the world. This year for International Women’s Day we want to celebrate the talent and successes from a few of our top picks of women in the design industry! One thing the design industry is never short of is inspiration. Here is a selection of what is a very deep talent pool!


Anna Spiro 

Anna is an Australian Interior Designer that has 20 years of experience in both the residential and commercial sectors. Anna Spiro Design prides themselves on not only finishing every project to the highest standards but also making sure the job is finished leaving a big smile on the clients face.

Projects include:

Mr Percival’s, a Brisbane restaurant and bar situated under the Story Bridge. A truly beautiful property both inside and out. Designed to complement the architectural features of the period with appropriate textures, patterns and finishes.

Norman Park River House, giving us a real tranquil feel throughout with a strong use of blue tones coupled with neutral colours and materials throughout.

Sarah Ellison 

Sarah is an Interior and Fashion Stylist based in Bondi Beach, Sydney. She launched her own furniture and home accessories label in 2017.  Before this she worked at Real Living Magazine where she was the Style Editor for 7 years, during this time she influenced how many Australians decorate their homes.

Shannon Fricke

Shannon is a creative entrepreneur. She plays a big part in the design world, from her interior design and styling to her books, homeware ranges and much more. Captivating readers across Australia and the world for over 20 years, Shannon’s work in the industry is definitely one to follow.

Emma’s career started off in Newspaper advertising before leaving the industry to raise her children which led her to follow her passion in Interior Design and Styling. Emma has styled many homes for a wide range of magazines, including her own home (Which is an absolute dream may we add)!

Jen Bishop

Or you may of heard of her as ‘The Interiors Addict’. Jen is a key influencer in the design space as the founder, publisher and owner of the well known Interiors Addict. Jen’s passion for the design world truly shines through in on the site, in the newsletters and across her social site.

Claire Ritchie

Claire is a designer of clothing and accessories based in Brisbane. She is known for her bold use of colour within her unique prints. Claire studied Fashion and Textile Design in Perth Western Australia before moving to Melbourne and then onto Brisbane, Where she now designs and hand sews all her sustainably printed products on natural fabrics.
