“Here at iscd every educator is genuinely interested in the progress of each student. We really do care and want to see our students do well. Colour isn’t a job to us; it’s a lifestyle.

I trained originally as a high school art teacher and have over 25 years experience in various forms of art, including screen printing. I ran my own screen printing business for about 15 years. I’m also a qualified colour designer. I never tire of colour, I’m passionate about it. Outside work I paint landscapes and natural scenes in quite strong watercolours. Nature is a real inspiration.

I really enjoy the face-to-face interaction with my students. I love seeing people start the course not so sure of themselves, then they just blossom – every student has a stage where they do a quantum leap. The buzz for me is to see them gain that confidence.

iscd students get real hands-on, practical tuition. At other schools you do a lot of colour theory on computers, but here students physically mix colour so they really understand how it works. We’re very confident in our reputation. Industry will often advertise jobs with us before going public. They know the training our students have is well established. The school has been open for almost 30 years – in this industry that’s quite impressive.”
