JODI STOREY, SURFACE DESIGN GRADUATE
I had no idea that after two years of part-time education, I would have my own design studio and be creating and selling wonderful wrapping papers, gift cards and artwork.

We love our students and they love iscd

There are hundreds of students that have studied at iscd and are happy to share some of their experiences with us. It is important to us that your whole journey through the iscd courses is a happy and fruitful one. This positive and nurturing creative atmosphere has been able to guide students through their studies and into successful careers.

Jodi Storey

"When I joined the International School of Colour and Design (iscd), I had no idea that after two years of part-time education, I would have my own design studio and be creating and selling wonderful wrapping papers, gift cards and artwork.

My new career is just so much fun! It's a far cry from my previous office administration role and I just love what I do. Through the Foundation Course - Certificate IV in Design and the Surface Design Diploma I learnt all about colour and design and its application to a variety of surfaces.

Studying part-time with professional educators and working on real commercial briefings made my time at iscd so worthwhile. Now that I have my own business I can work hours that suit my lifestyle and work creatively which is so satisfying!"

"I studied fine arts at university and while I enjoyed being an artist I felt I had no specialisation or direction. I knew I had a love of colour and pattern so searched for something that matched my interests. The Surface Design diploma at iscd was brilliant as it exposed me to all the different possibilities available in the industry and got me excited about the world of design. Part of the program was a commercial brief with Porter’s Original Paints to design wallpaper. I just loved this! I was lucky enough to win the design competition and was also offered a job on graduation.  The education at iscd was relevant, contemporary and life changing."

"I had thought about studying at iscd for a couple of years, but after speaking with some friendly staff and a collection of Ex-Students I enrolled on the spot. I was occupied chiefly with raising my three boys. With them in mind I really wanted to re-train in a profession that would allow me to work from home. Previously I was a research scientist. After many years I felt I wanted to do something with my artistic side. I studied Art at HSC level and kept it up as a hobby. The foundation course was a fantastic introduction to the school and the most I have ever learnt about colour. It also made me want to try the Surface and Colour Design Diplomas. They all proved to have wonderful teachers who were full of enthusiasm and encouragement. I am hoping to begin work as a colour consultant and would ideally like to gain work as a freelance fabric/wallpaper designer."
