Studio project comes to life for Belinda Lee

Colour palette 'Retreat, Autumn twenty eleven' was created for Murobond by iscd student Belinda Lee as part of her final project in the Colour Design Diploma. Belinda created the palette and the "story" surrounding the Retreat palette. She was awarded the Murobond Colour palette award in late 2010. Belinda has set up a new design studio, Summer Hill Design Studio

"When the days grow shorter, the evening light dims to a soft glaze. Walks along the shore are brisk, and comforted by cashmere cardies. The skies are storm-greyed, their lowering whiteness urges you homeward. The fire is alight, and the patchwork throw on the lounge-worn thin from generations of use will soon be wrapped around you.

Come home to a place where the hearth is warm and the couches comfy. Trays brim with teacups, Persian love cake and velvety vanilla cream heaped upon poached quinces, ruby-red and glistening. Sink down into these sensory pleasures with the laughter of an old friend. Autumnal colours remind us to retreat, to nest and just be".
