Why did you choose iscd?
I was looking for creative inspiration, so attended a workshop at ISCD and felt straight away that I was in the right place!
How did you find your time at iscd?
Loved my time at ISCD especially in the colour course, we were immersed in creativity with like minded people, the educators generously shared their passion, it was an inspired, nurturing and artist environment.
What were the most valuable things you learned there? At a mature age I began to believe in my creativity and was able to change my career, the school stimulated me and opened my life up to new possibilities.
What exactly do you do?
As a colour and design consultant I work closely with clients in their homes or workplace to create a colour palette and give styling advise that reflects their taste and supports the function of the space. My aim is to offer beautiful and inspired creations for clients home or business.
How did your time at iscd help you to get to where you are now?
Porters Paints awarded me a prize for a colour palette I had designed. After graduating I approached Peter Lewis and he offered me a job as Architectural Representative, this led me to moving to Melbourne with Porters were I worked as a colour consultant.
How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Sarah Wood Designs was developed to provide colour and decoration advice. After finding my niche and working with Architects and Designers I can listen to what my clients want and direct them to the best finishes, textures and colours for their unique project.
