"When I started my part-time course at iscd I wanted to get some creative balance back into my life. I really needed to get in touch with my creative side and it was such fun learning all about colour by mixing paint and applying it to designs.

I continued at the School specialising in Interior Styling and Colour Design Diploma and am now a professional in these areas with my own business! I had no idea I'd be changing my career as well as having fun. What I love about my new job is that I am helping other people realise what a difference colour can make to your life and your home."

"When I attended one of iscd's information sessions, it was my first step in a change of career from travel agent to colour stylist. I was so existed to be accepted into the course and for me it was the realisation of a lifelong passion. The Educators are fantastic and the great thing about the course is that there is lots of 'doing' instead of just only learning from a book.

I now have a successful consulting business with many clients and am the New South Wales Colour Councillor for the Design Institute of Australia. I think the key is that you never stop learning and even though in the beginning it's a bit scary you soon realise you can add great value to people's lives."

"Like many others, studying at iscd opened the door for me to make a creative career change. When I first came to iscd, my previous experience was only on a hobby basis designing greeting cards. To be educated as a creative professional in the field of interior design and colour consulting indulged my interest in, and passion for, visual communication and creativity. Since studying I have now created a new career for myself along with my own company Janssen James Pty Ltd. I provide professional interior design and colour consulting services for both commercial and residential projects.

My advice to anyone is to definitely explore your creativity but also be realistic about a creative career. There are many creative careers to choose from so enjoy the Foundation Course - Certificate IV in Design and see where your interests and talents are."
