There are hundreds of students that have studied at iscd and are happy to share some of their experiences with us. It is important to us that your whole journey through the iscd courses is a happy and fruitful one. This positive and nurturing creative atmosphere has been able to guide students through their studies and into successful careers.
"I came to iscd because I wanted to meet like-minded people and turn something that I enjoyed doing for fun into a career. The School definitely gave me this opportunity.
I attended an information night and realised that other schools didn't have the same care about the individual's needs and aspirations as iscd did. It's more than a school, it really is a creative community.
It was wonderful to study in an environment where educators support and encourage you every step of the way and in a non-competitive environment.
While working as a receptionist and studying one night per week I was able to complete iscd's Foundation Course - Certificate IV in Design and Diploma in Colour Design! On graduation I secured a position with The Laminex Group which was advertised through the school".
"Coming from a publishing and advertising background, I Joined iscd to explore my creative passions and start a new career as a mature aged student. I found my creativity evolved gradually and easily through each learning stage and before I realised it, I was able to undertake projects which beforehand would have been very daunting. After graduating, I started my own colour design business, Colour Consultants Australia Pty Ltd, which has now been operating for 7 years. The group consults on both residential and commercial interiors and exteriors. We have also done colour finishes for a number of churches and heritage buildings.
In 2007, I was selected to create one of the designer rooms at the Sydney Complete Home Show. I have also recently been appointed NSW Chairperson for the Colour Society of Australia, a national organisation formed to provide members with the opportunity to learn more about all aspects of colour.
My advice to those looking to study at iscd is just go for it! Along with the formal education you will learn a lot about yourself and meet lots of like-minded people. My only wish is that I had done it earlier on in life!"
"I joined iscd coming from a building background and a love of colour. I always knew there was an opportunity to combine the two and make a successful career. What I found in iscd was a positive and friendly learning atmosphere that enabled me to attain the skills that I needed to start working in the design industry.
Within a few years of graduating I have already established my own business 'InsideAndOut Transformations' which has turned out to be a very profitable business".
