Recently Deborah Bibby, Editor of  Real Living Magazine joined representatives from Designer Rugs and iscd to judge the Foundation course student designs for our annual rug completion.

The five designs chosen from over 500 submissions will be announced at our upcoming graduation on Tuesday 8 December 2009. These designs will be commercially produced and exhibited in our gallery during 2010.

This is a groundbreaking collaboration of industry and education giving design puppies the opportunity to taste the commercial realities of the industry.

"We developed Art on the Floor to give iscd students the opportunity to learn about the commercialisation of creative inspiration'' outlined Yosi Tal, Managing Director of Designer Rugs. "It's everything really if you want to make a career from your creativity. I am always excited to see the designs come through from the iscd as their students have a very advanced understanding of colour''.

It was a very tough decision, and  took over two hours to come up with the final five. Look out for these amazing designs on campus throughout 2010.
